Kirkmichael, Banffshire
From around 1901, the parish of Kirkmichael had a small poorhouse or almshouse administered by the Parochial Board rather than operating as a statutory poorhouse under the central Board of Supervision.
The property, location unknown, was leased for the purpose for a period of five years. In 1904 it could accommodate 7 men or 7 women, plus an attendant.
Records
Note: many repositories impose a closure period of up to 100 years for records identifying individuals. Before travelling a long distance, always check that the records you want to consult will be available.
